In so many ways the Mr. Monk series of books deliver the best aspects of the series, with scenes that feel classic, whodunits that are fun to solve, and laugh out loud moments.
In Mr. Monk and the Blue Flu poor Monk is faced with something inconceivable, the flu, and what’s worse, this is a flu that could enable murderers and criminal get away with their crimes. Whether not not he fully understands where the police officers are coming from, he stands by his conviction crimes need to be solved.
This book detours further in to social commentary that I was expecting, but it fits with the plot and is perfectly in keeping with the characters and premise.
