The more they challenge her, and work to break her down, the more she remembers who she was before Aliens invaded and there was a rebellion in need of a leader. The more she resists, argues, and challenges them in turn, the more Xoktal, Cassick and Reytez realize they don’t just want her for a year, they don’t just want to tame a prisoner… they’ve found someone who helps make building a new life on an Alien world make sense.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited book builds on the previous stories in the series, and drops breadcrumbs for who will get the next book. (And it sounds fantastic, if I’m looking in the right direction.). I’d also love to see Fanaris get a story, he’s the Alien who doesn’t fit in with his own people, but is rejected by most of the humans for being an Alien.
